- E/M Codes 99202-99215's definition has changed so that "typical face-to-face time" is now "total time spent on the day of the encounter."
- Healthcare professionals and dermatologists in 2022 did not need to assess how much time have spent on counseling and coordination during the visit. The code selection will be determined by the length of the visit, even when counseling was not the main focus of the time spent on service.

Alteration in Modifier policy

- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services thoroughly examined how healthcare professionals utilize modifier 25. - Modifier 25 will remain an exception to this rule and should be added to the "column 2 code" unless the payer has instructed otherwise.

Changes in Biopsy coding

- Dermatologists conduct Dermatology skin biopsies on a routine. In 2019, Dermatology offered a new set of six biopsies Codes CPT 11102-11107. These are three kinds of primary Codes for biopsy and three different secondary Codes.

1. 1. 11102 A skin biopsy that is a Single tangential lesion.
  2. + 11103 for each distinct or additional lesion.
  3. 11104 Skin biopsy with a punch and closure with simple, performed as a single lesion.
  4. +11105 for each distinct or additional lesion.
  5. 11106, an incisional biopsy of the skin includes a simple closure. Only one lesion has removed.
  6. +11107 for each distinct or additional lesion

- Coding and medical billing professionals should consider the hierarchy when using these Codes:

1. 1. One primary code must be provided if multiple biopsies of various kinds have conducted on the same patient during the same visit.
  2. Additional biopsies must be identified with their respective add-on code.
  3. Incisional is the primary component of punch and tangential. Punch is always the primary tool for Tangentia

New laser Code sets

In 2018, two new laser code sets had released: 0479T and +0480, which are for fractional ablative laser fenestration of burn and traumatic scars for functional improvement, and 0491T and +0492T, which are for ablative laser therapy of open wounds.
